The Canadian Drone Defence Solution

Sovereign electric- and turbojet-powered interceptor drones and propulsion systems for the Canadian Armed Forces and allied militaries.

PRE-REVENUE · DEVELOPMENT STAGE

Where we are today: Silver Dart Drones is a pre-revenue company in the design and financing stage. We have not yet commenced manufacturing or made a sale. We have not yet received a commitment of any kind from the Canadian Armed Forces and have no intent to infer so. Everything on this site — our products, capabilities, and timelines — describes what we intend to build, drawn from our business plan.

WHY NOW

Three forces are driving the Silver Dart opportunity

01

Defence spending is surging

Canadian defence spending is projected to more than triple from 2014 levels, with policy now favouring sovereign, Canadian-built capability over foreign imports.

02

Warfare has been transformed

Ukraine and other conflicts show un-crewed systems, AI, and networked operations now decide battlefield outcomes — no longer emerging tech, but core requirements.

03

The CAF must modernize at scale

Canada enters its largest defence modernization cycle in generations. Rapid, innovative procurement is now essential to rebuild capacity and readiness.

WHAT WE PLAN TO BUILD

A layered air defence strategy

Silver Dart intends to offer a layered air-defence strategy with both short-range electric and medium/long-range turbojet interceptor drones — designing and building both propulsion systems used in modern interceptors, in addition to the airframes, software and mission systems around them. These are planned products; none are yet in production.

PLANNED PRODUCT · PHASE 1

Electric Interceptor Drones & Motors

Silver Dart intends to design and manufacture a low-cost, mass-producible interceptor of a type similar to Ukraine's combat-proven "Sting" interceptor, purpose-built to detect and destroy hostile loitering munitions such as Shahed/Geran-type drones at scale.

  • High-KV brushless motors targeting speeds of roughly 280–315 km/h and ~30 m/s climb rates, comparable to combat-proven Sting-class platforms.
  • AI-assisted guidance and FPV control planned for the counter-loitering-munition mission.
  • To be powered by Silver Dart's own electric motors — a component category with no dedicated Canadian manufacturer today.
  • Designed for the low unit cost the CAF's "Flood the Zone" requirement calls for — large volumes of attritable drones.

PLANNED PRODUCT · PHASE 2

Turbojet Interceptor Drones & Engines

Silver Dart intends to design and manufacture a turbojet-powered interceptor drone, purpose-built to detect, pursue, and neutralize hostile un-crewed aircraft, helicopters, and loitering munitions — a capability the Department of National Defence has identified as virtually non-existent in Canada today.

  • Turbojet propulsion planned to deliver the speed and climb rate needed for the fastest, highest-altitude threats.
  • Domestically produced turbojet engines in the 22–40 lb thrust class — a category with almost no dedicated Canadian manufacturer today.
  • Being engineered for Canadian climate extremes, with emphasis on Arctic operations.
  • Planned parachute recovery system for safe, controlled descent if the drone is returned to base.

WHY SILVER DART

A sovereign manufacturer for a market that needs one

Vertically integrated propulsion, by design

Silver Dart intends to design and build both propulsion systems used in modern interceptor drones — electric and turbojet — not just the airframes.

No dedicated Canadian competitor

In both high-KV electric drone motors and 22–40 lb turbojet engines, Silver Dart plans to address categories with no established Canadian manufacturer today.

Sovereign, non-Chinese-content supply

Domestic propulsion manufacturing is intended to reduce exposure to foreign supply-chain risk and support "Buy Canadian" and allied non-Chinese-content requirements.

Experienced, mission-aligned team

Decades of combined experience across military and commercial aviation, drone regulation, software development, and business management.

The sovereign drone defence capability Canada is going to need

ABOUT SILVER DART

Building Canada's sovereign drone defence capability

A vertically integrated interceptor drone and engine manufacturer in development — Silver Dart intends to design and produce electric and turbojet propulsion systems, airframes, and software for Canada's next generation of counter-drone capability.

PRE-REVENUE · DEVELOPMENT STAGE
OUR STORY

The Canadian drone defence solution

Canada is facing existential threats in a world of geopolitics running amok, and the country lacks significant drone production capability. Silver Dart intends to make drones for the Canadian, and other "friendly," militaries.

Ukrainian experience in the Russian war has shown that drone technology has a life cycle of about eight weeks. Silver Dart intends to establish a manufacturing process similar to a fast-food chain, with the capability of producing large quantities of up-to-the-minute drones on short notice.

Taken together with our planned electric motor, turbojet engine, and software lines, this is intended to make Silver Dart a vertically integrated drone interceptor and engine manufacturer — designing and building both of the propulsion systems used in modern interceptor drones, in addition to the airframes, software, and mission systems around them.

OUR POSITIONING

Positioned at the intersection of three powerful forces

A rapidly expanding defence market, the transformation of warfare through autonomy and AI, and the urgent modernization requirements of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Silver Dart intends to build the scalable, adaptable drone development and production capacity that is urgently needed in Canada. We hope to partner with the Canadian Armed Forces to help them understand their needs, meet their needs, and provide the necessary adaptability at speed — providing sovereign Canadian capabilities that enhance operational effectiveness while supporting the growth of Canada's defence industrial base.

THE GAME PLAN

Two planned phases to full vertical integration

PHASE 1

Electric Interceptor Drones & Motors

Silver Dart plans to design and manufacture a low-cost, mass-producible electric interceptor drone, together with the high-KV brushless electric motors that power it — a component category with no dedicated Canadian manufacturer today.

PHASE 2

Turbojet Interceptor Drones & Engines

Silver Dart plans to design and manufacture turbojet-powered interceptor drones offering the speed, climb rate, and responsiveness needed to intercept the fastest and highest-altitude threats — together with the 22–40 lb thrust class turbojet engines that power them, intended for Silver Dart's own drones and for sale to other Canadian and allied manufacturers.

MANUFACTURING HUB

Aurora, Ontario

Silver Dart's initial manufacturing operations will be based in Aurora, Ontario. The Aurora location will become the company's main manufacturing hub, with interceptor drone assembly, turbojet engine production, and testing all based on-site.

  • Headquarters Aurora, Ontario, Canada (planned)
  • Focus Interceptor drone assembly & turbojet engine production (planned)
  • Operating envelope Arctic to Desert
